EPA MANDATED AFTER-TREATMENT SENSORS

Posted: January 4, 2016 in Kenworth

Starting in January 2016 the EPA has mandated 2 additional sensors for CUMMINS and PACCAR engines.  The first is a PARTICULATE MATTER SENSOR.  This sensor is designed to send a code if the after-treatment filter is damaged.  The second is a DEF QUALITY SENSOR.  This sensor sends a code if the quality of the DEF fluid in your tank is below an acceptable level.  Both of these sensors should save diagnostic time if there are issues with the aftertreatment system on your truck.
